Meet Riley

Riley Button founded R Collective Media in 2022, when she was 22 and a junior at Oregon State University. After job shadowing in all kinds of fields, a social media job shadow finally clicked. It brought together everything she loved: creativity, photography and video, design, storytelling, strategy, and business.

The first person she told about her idea was a real estate professional she met while working at a coffee shop, whose office needed exactly that kind of help. That conversation became R Collective’s first client, and the business has grown almost entirely through word of mouth and social media ever since.

Riley graduated from Oregon State in 2023 with a degree in Design and Innovation Management. Her approach has been the same from day one: every client should feel like they’re our only client. She genuinely invests in each business, and she loves that every new client means learning a whole new industry, from real estate and veterinary care to construction and a local tennis club. Her favorite parts of the job are content creation and working in person with clients.

Under her leadership, R Collective Media was voted Best of the Willamette Valley two years in a row, earning Gold for Best Marketing Firm and Silver for Best Website Design in 2025 and 2026. She’s also deeply involved in the Salem business community as a member of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, a Salem Emerging Leaders Ambassador on the communications and social media team, and part of Leadership Salem.

When she’s not behind the camera, you can find Riley fishing, shopping, trying a new hobby, or hunting down a great cup of coffee and a fun treat. At home, she’s a wife and a proud mom to two dogs and a cat.
